NOTICE OF PROPOSED REZONING PUBLIC HEARING The Dalton-Whitfield County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing for consideration of Aron Ortiz to rezone property from Heavy Manufacturing (M-2) to Rural Residential (R-5). The subject property totals .38 acres and is identified as tax parcel 12-354-37-000 according to the Whitfield County Tax Assessor, and is located at 811 Peek Road, Dalton Ga 30721. The property is more specifically described as follows: A tract or parcel of land lying and being in Land Lot 354 and the 12th District and 3rd Section of Whitfield County, Georgia, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at an iron stob located in the northwest corner of the intersection of Peek Road with Cavender Road; thence north 87 degrees 01 minute west a distance of 187.9 feet; thence north 9 degrees 53 minutes east a distance of 92.3 feet; thence north 77 degrees 30 minutes east a distance of 121.5 feet to a point located in the west line of Cavender Road; thence south 22 degrees 43 minutes east a distance of 137.7 feet along the west line of Cavender Road to the POINT OF BEGINNING. At the public hearing, comments from any person in regard to the rezoning request will be heard, and thereafter the Dalton-Whitfield County Planning Commission will deliberate and make a recommendation to the Whitfield County Board of Commissioners as to its recommendation for rezoning of said lands in Whitfield County, Georgia. Any opponent to this proposed rezoning action shall file a written disclosure statement with the Dalton-Whitfield County Planning Commission a minimum of five (5) days prior to the public hearing, concerning financial or material political contributions totaling $250 or more, made to one or more members of the Mayor and Council in the last two (2) years. Members of the public are invited to attend this hearing scheduled for Monday, December 19, 2016, at the Whitfield County Administrative Annex 2, 214 West King Street, Commissioners Chambers, Dalton, Georgia, at 7:00 p. m. and make their comments.
