NOTICE OF PROPOSED REZONING PUBLIC HEARING The Dalton-Whitfield County Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing for consideration of City of Refuge to rezone a tract of land from Heavy Manufacturing (M-2) to Transitional Commercial (C-4). The subject property totals approximately 2.3 acres and is identified as tax parcel 12-238-17-001 according to the Whitfield County Tax Assessor, and is located at 120 East Morris Street Dalton, GA 30720. The property is more specifically described as follows: A certain tract or parcel of land lying or being in Land Lot 238, 12th District, 3rd Section, Whitfield County, Georgia, and being more particularly described as follows: BEGINNING at a point at the southwest intersection of South Glenwood Avenue and East Morris Street; thence southerly along the west right of way of said South Glenwood Avenue a distance of 410 feet more or less; thence westerly a distance of 259 feet more or less to a point in the east right of way of Railroad Street; thence northeasterly along the east right of way of said Railroad Street a distance of 417 feet more or less to a point in the south right of way of E. Morris Street; thence easterly along the south right of way of said East Morris Street a distance of 185 feet more or less to the POINT OF BEGINNING. Said tract contains 2.3 acres more or less. At the public hearing, comments from any person in regard to the rezoning request will be heard, and thereafter the Dalton-Whitfield County Planning Commission will deliberate and make a recommendation to the Whitfield County Board of Commissioners as to its recommendation for rezoning of said lands in Whitfield County, Georgia. Any opponent to this proposed rezoning action shall file a written disclosure statement with the Dalton-Whitfield County Planning Commission a minimum of five (5) days prior to the public hearing, concerning financial or material political contributions totaling $250 or more, made to one or more members of the Mayor and Council in the last two (2) years. Members of the public are invited to attend this hearing scheduled for Monday, May 22, 2017, at the Whitfield County Administrative Annex 2, 214 West King Street, Commissioner's Chambers, Dalton, Georgia, at 7:00 p. m. and make their comments.
