A Letter From
Bobbie J Dixon, Whitfield County Coroner
TO THE CITIZENS OF WHITFIELD COUNTY,
First, I would like to take time, just to say thank you. Thank you for the honor, and privilege to serve as your elected Coroner for the last 24 years, and thank you for each and every vote that has allowed me to keep my office for the last two and a half decades. I could not have been successful, if not for the continued support, from the citizens of our great community, my family and friends. It will be bitter sweet, to leave a position I have held with pride, throughout my career.
I have decided that it is time for me to enjoy retirement. I want to take the time to say thank you, to all those who have supported me, and assisted me, throughout my career. The Whitfield County Board of Commissioners, the Whitfield County Sheriffs Dept, Dalton City Police Dept, Georgia State Patrol, City of Varnell Police Dept, City of Cohutta Police Dept, Tunnel Hill Police Department, Hamilton EMS, Whitfield County Fire Dept, Dalton City Fire Department, and City of Cohutta Volunteer Fire Dept, for their continued and never ending support and cooperation. I am proud to have worked along side each of you, providing services to all of Whitfield County and the city of Dalton.
I have spent many days, reflecting on my time as Coroner, and pondering how the newly elected Coroner will follow me. It goes without saying, that I would like my office to continue to operate at the highest of standards, and in a true, fair and accurate manner, in the investigations it conducts. I would like to know that my successor will continue to be a supporter of the families who's lives we touch. For these reasons, I would like to ask everyone to join me, in my support for candidate Greg Bates, in the upcoming elections in May, 2016.
Mr. Bates has had a long and successful career in law enforcement, both in the military setting, and public service, at the Dalton Police Department. I have had the privilege to work beside him, for the last 18 years, in the city of Dalton. I feel that he has every tool necessary, to allow me to leave my office in the best of hands. He is a true professional, a outstanding investigator and his attitude reflects all the professional qualities that this office calls for. The most important aspect of my job, and the most difficult tasks, are the ones of a true "investigative" nature. Given his qualifications and background, as a detective, major crimes investigator, and death investigator in law enforcement, I know, he is more than qualified to perform these tasks, and all other professional and political aspects of the job.
Again, thank you for your continued support throughout my career, and please, join me one more time, is showing support, with your vote, for Mr. Greg Bates, in the May election for Coroner.
Sincerely, Bobbie J Dixon Whitfield County Coroner
