Whitfield County Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority July 8, 2016 Section 0020 - INVITATION TO BID Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority Project No. 16047 Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority (Owner) will receive sealed bids for all materials, labor, tools, equipment and incidentals necessary for the construction of the Old Dixie Landfill Access Road until at 3:00 P.M. local time. Bids will be opened to the public at 3:30 P.M. on AUGUST 29th, 2016 at The Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority at 587 Gazaway Road Dalton, GA 30721. Bid Proposals can be mailed or delivered to the Dalton-Whitfield Solid Waste Authority at 587 Gazaway Road Dalton, GA 30721 up to 3:00 P.M. local time, AUGUST 29th, 2016, and then at said place publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals received after the designated time will not be considered. The Scope of Work Includes: Reconstruction of parts of the Old Dixie Landfill Access Road with new base and paving including areas of ditch work and storm drain pipe improvements. The GDOT Standard Specifications Construction Transportation Systems, 2013 Edition, Supplemental Specifications Book, 2008 edition, applicable special provisions and supplemental specifications and the GDOT Standards and Construction Details apply to the contract. Bidders submitting bids must be GDOT qualified contractors. Bids must be accompanied by a Bid Bond in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of the total amount bid. All bonds must be countersigned by a Georgia Resident Agent. A Performance Bond in the amount of one hundred percent (100%) of the Bid Price and a Payment Bond in the amount of one hundred Twenty percent (120%) of the Bid Price and a Certificate of Insurance must be furnished by the successful bidder prior to commencing work. Bidders shall inform themselves of and comply with all conditions and specifications contained in the bid package, contract, related documents and State and Federal Laws, and moreover in specific to the Contract Conditions. Payment for the work will be made on a monthly basis and within 30 days of the date in which billing is received. Applications for payment should be submitted on or before the first of each month and will be approved for payment by the OWNER on the basis of work in place. The ground for termination is that the child/ren is/are a dependent child under O.C.G.A. §15-11-2 and O.C.G.A. §15-11-310.
